Well, I'll go first guys. Many of you know much of this story but here's the short(ish) version.
I started in Real Estate in 2000. My career at the time was a Professional Musician. Man, isn't that using the term 'professional' loosely? I had just got back from a season playing guitar and singing in Weipa in Far North Queensland.
A friend of mine called me and threw out the real estate idea, that sat in the back of my mind for a few months. I was just sitting around watching Oprah all week between gigs so I thought, 'Why not?'
So I did the initial training and it's funny, the morning of the initial 3 day training I had a mid-week gig the night before and I very nearly didn't go. Talk about 'Sliding Doors.' I nearly didn't start at all. Isn't it funny how so much of your life comes down to little 'could've gone either way' decisions like that.
So I started learning the system they taught, and hooked in. I was still gigging so I never did the full on 70 hours a week that some of my peers did. What I did do well, is that my dollar productive time was a higher percentage than most. In that when I was in the office, I was in the zone pretty much all of the time.
So I progressed up the career path and became the Sales Manager. One day when the main trainer was ill in the middle of the training, I had to take over. I had sat through this particular training at least 10 times, so I knew it well. From then on I did more and more training and continued to learn more and more stuff myself.
The owners of that brand had a falling out, so I started a new entity with one of the Directors and eventually merged that brand into the Coldwell Banker brand and after a year of that, I 'semi-retired' into the REIQ training department as a contractor.
Recently pulled out of this retirement by a few teams who wanted some in office coaching and guidance, that brings us up to date.
Glad to be a part of this Platinum program, and can't wait to help you guys kick your competitions's butt.
