Hi all,
In the spirit of sharing and getting things moving, here's my story (briefly, of course)
After 18 years of working in private and public IT companies, the Global Financial Crisis hit home, banks called in the debts and, ultimately, the train wreck resulted in my redundancy and retrenchment.
Of course, I tried to get a job in IT – that's what I knew, after all, and I had been earning decent money. It didn't work out, though – nobody was hiring, the market was dead.
Real Estate has always interested me, but I wouldn't have made the leap from IT, so I'm sort of glad I was pushed.
On the encouragement of a friend already in the industry, and with the promise of a position within her office, I went and obtained my Real Estate Agent License. So, I've had the license for a couple of weeks, I have my first Exclusive listing, and I'm looking for guidance, support and advice.
The office I work in is an independent brand, so we're not bound by corporate rules, but conversely, we don't have a strong recognition in the community.
So, I say “Bring it on” and look forward to success with a lot of hard work.
Cheers
Chris
